Road deaths on the increase!

There was seven percent increase in deaths in the Spring of 2011 compared with the previous year. The rise was sparking concern amongst road safety professionals. In total there were 500 road fatalities between April and June and there has been speculation that the upturn might be because the spending cuts on police,road safety and maintenance were beginning to bite.

Join the Zig Zag Campaign and save lives!

The aim of this campaign is to meet the following objectives:

To provide a safe zone facility for parents, transport drivers and delivery drivers in all new schools that are built in the future by changing current building regulations.

To review existing signage outside schools and update any of those that doesn’t apply to their position.

To standardise the layout of Zig Zag lines outside schools.

Review the parking restriction times outside all schools.

By achieving these objectives, we will be creating a safer environment and protecting our future generation.

BRAKE sets a Charity challenge

Fancy taking on a challenge this Autumn? Why not join the Roadmaster team and climb Mount Snowdon,steeped in history and with spectacular views whilst raising funds for BRAKE, the road safety charity.At 3000ft,its a challenging walk,but its a wonderful opportunity to raise vital funds on Saturday 8th September 2012.

BRAKE is a national charity dedicated to preventing road death and injury and caring for people bereaved or injured in road crashes.
